Car Won't Start?

What to prepare for a mobile diagnostic visit

A car that will not start does not automatically need a new battery or starter. Stewart Mobile Repair offers mobile no-start diagnostics to investigate the issue before recommending parts. The visit begins with your description of what happened, the vehicle information, and confirmation that the location is suitable for mobile work.

Describe what you already noticed

Tell us whether the engine did not crank, cranked slowly, or made a clicking sound when you tried to start it. If it cranked but did not start, include that detail. Mention any warning lights you noticed and whether the problem began suddenly or has happened before.

These observations help us review your request; they do not identify a failed part by themselves. You do not need to repeat starting attempts or carry out roadside troubleshooting to complete the form.

Share the vehicle and any previous testing

Provide the year, make, and model. If another mechanic or parts store has already tested a component, explain what was tested and share the result if available. A battery, starter, or alternator replacement request based on a previous test still needs review before work is scheduled.

Selecting a part in the estimate form does not automatically authorize its replacement. If the cause is uncertain, request a diagnostic visit rather than choosing a replacement part.

Know what you are requesting

The current mobile diagnostic price is $160. This is a request for diagnosis, not a fixed-price quote for every possible repair. Parts and repair pricing are confirmed separately before approved work begins.

We review the symptoms, investigate the issue, explain what we find, and provide the next steps. A diagnostic result may lead to an eligible mobile repair or a recommendation for a shop referral. Submitting the form does not confirm an appointment or guarantee an on-site repair.

Confirm the location before scheduling

Share the city or service address and where the vehicle is parked. Mobile work needs a safe and legal work area. Vehicle access, the repair involved, parking conditions, parts, and scheduling can affect whether a visit is feasible.

We serve Fremont and surrounding communities, including Dublin and Pleasanton. Availability depends on the exact address, work area, job details, and scheduling.

Request the right next step

Use the mobile diagnostics page to request a diagnostic visit, or call or text (650) 660-6305 to discuss the situation. The online form takes no payment. We confirm visit details before scheduling and explain pricing before approved work.
